Fred is a 3 year old Golden Retriever boy fostered near Glasgow, Scotland.
Fred was relinquished to IRR by a family who had him from a puppy and loved him dearly. Fred quickly learned to resource guard from a very young age and while his family managed his behaviour well while no young children lived in the home it became apparent that once children came along it wouldn’t be fair to Fred or the family to juggle the situation!!
Fred has been with our behaviourist in Scotland for a good few weeks and has now started to settle into a routine. He’s in foster with several other dogs and we think he would be happy living in a home as an only dog or possibly with an older friendly bitch.
Fred needs an adult only home. A rural home would be a bonus.
Fred is a loving affectionate boy who will bond quickly with his new family. He is housetrained, walks well on the lead and loves a ride out in the car!!
His adopters will have ongoing support from our behaviourist who will provide advice to help Fred settle in to his new home.
