Lovely Willow is looking for a home with an experienced adopter.
Willow has come from a loving home who originally wanted to train her to be an assistance dog but it was apparent from a young age that she was learning to resource guard!!
Her family loved her and managed her behaviour with the help of a trainer but eventually had to admit defeat and ask IRR to find her a more suitable loving home.
Willow is constantly looking for items to grab destroy and guard whether it’s a tea towel a cushion or a plant in the garden. Willow hasn’t shown any resource guarding around her own food or toys only items she’s searching out ( rather like attention seeking).
On a more positive note Willow is a very loving, affectionate girl. She plays well with other dogs and went to doggy day care in Ireland and had no issues with other dogs or resource guarding.
She is house trained, sleeps well overnight, doesn’t beg from the table and loves to have a game of tug with her rope.
Willow needs a home with experienced adopters who are home the majority of the day and can give her clear boundaries and guidance on what is expected of her.
Because of her guarding behaviour an adult only home please, no cats as she hasn’t been cat tested.
She’s still very young and with good training advice she’ll make someone a fabulous dog and we’re sure the right home is out there for her!
